Three Graces

The Three Graces zijn drie mooie zussen uit de Griekse mythologie. Al langer interesseert dit thema Nico Parlevliet, zoals te zien is in Studies of Graces. In deze installatie stelt hij de drie Gratiën voor in de verschijning van drie roterende plumeau’s, als metafoor voor zowel vrouwelijke elegantie als reinheid. Ze werken op zonne-energie en hangen als raamobjecten te wachten tot er genoeg licht is om te dansen. Ze zijn een drie-eenheid, maar ook los te koop.

The Three Graces are three beautiful sisters from Greek mythology. Nico Parlevliet has been interested in this theme for some time, as can be seen in Studies of Graces. In this installation, he represents the three Graces in the appearance of three rotating feather dusters, as a metaphor for both feminine elegance and purity. They run on solar energy and hang like window objects waiting for enough light to dance. They are a trinity, but can also be purchased separately.
