HorizonLuisterApparaat

Zowel in de Franse Pyreneeën in 2004 als in de Dordrechtse Biesbosch in 2005 werd ik gevraagd om een ​​werk te maken over de auditieve perceptie van oneindigheid. Concreet betekende dit: de hoorbare horizon, hoe bereik je dat ?! Een heuvelachtig gebied vraagt ​​om een ​​andere oplossing dan een plek waar je de horizon rondom kunt zien. Tegelijkertijd zocht ik naar mogelijkheden om diepgaande natuurbeleving op te doen, wat wonderwel werkt met je ogen dicht.

2005 – Een parabolische schijf van 3,5 meter breed zorgt voor een directe auditieve waarneming van de horizon, vandaar de titel : HorizonLuisterApparaat. De bezoeker kan zijn eigen richting bepalen aangezien de schijf 360 graden vrij rond kan draaien. Als u op de stoel klimt, komt uw hoofd in het brandpunt waar het geluid van de plaats waarop de schijf is gericht akoestisch wordt versterkt; een ver vrachtschip verraadt zijn boeggolf, een galopperend paard dat honderden meters verder weg is, hoor je alsof hij achter je rent. De natuur presenteert zich in volledig stereofonische geluiden.

Both in the French Pyrenees in 2004 and in the Dordrecht Biesbosch in 2005 I was asked to create a work on the auditory perception of infinity. More specifically this meant: the audible horizon, how can that be achieved?! A hilly area calls for another solution than a place where you can see the horizon all around. At the same time I looked for opportunities to gain in-depth experience of nature, which works wonderfully with your eyes closed.

2005 – A parabolic drive of 3.5 metres is a direct auditory observation of the horizon, hence the title : HorizonLuister Apparatus. The visitor can determine his own kingdom to see the drive 360 degrees around. If you climb on the chair, your hooved will be in the fog point where the face of the place where the aim is being reinforced; a distant cargo hull gives away its bow wave, a galloping horse hundreds of meters away, you can hear it as if it were right behind you. Nature presents itself in completely stereophonic sounds.
