Blind Tales

2004 – Inwoners en bezoekers van Katwijk aan Zee werden drie maal na elkaar gevraagd herinneringen of associaties te vertellen, nadat ze geblindoekt waren. De eerste keer kregen zeiets te ruiken, de teede keer iets te voelen en de derde keer iets te proeven. De objecten om te voelen kwamen uit het Katwijks Museum en ook de smaken en geuren hadden met vroeger te maken. Zo konden er verhalen ontstaan typerend voor plaats en tijd en passend binnen de solo tentoonstelling van Nico Parlevliet met de titel ‘even terug . . .’ In het museum worden de verhalen over ruiken, voelen en proeven tegelijkertijd over drie schermen vertoond. Met dank aan alle mensen die spontaan hebben meegewerkt!

2004 – Residents and visitors of Katwijk aan Zee were asked three times in succession to tell memories or associations, after they had been blindfolded. The first time they got to smell something, the second time to feel something and the third time to taste something. The objects to feel came from the Katwijks Museum and the flavors and smells also had to do with the past. In this way, stories could arise typical of place and time and fit within the solo exhibition of Nico Parlevliet entitled ‘just back. . . ‘ In the museum, the stories about smelling, feeling and tasting are shown simultaneously across three screens. Thanks to all the people who contributed spontaneously!
