Studies of Graces

2010 – In zijn Pictures Project onderzoekt Parlevliet de relatie tussen beeld en geluid. Vaak laat hij zich in dit onderzoek leiden door beeltenissen uit de kunstgeschiedenis. Zo ook zijn studies rondom De Drie Gratieën; een geschilderde interpretatie van Picabia die weer geïnspireerd werd door Rubens, is de eerste studie (acryl op papier, stalen lijst, 110 x180 cm), daarna onderzocht hij nog verschillende andere invalshoeken, zoals de video’s laten zien.

2010 – In his Pictures Project Parlevliet investigates the relationship between image and sound. In this research he is often guided by images from art history. So are studies around The Three Graces; a painted interpretation of Picabia, which was again inspired by Rubens, is the first study (acrylic on paper, steel frame, 110 x 180 cm), after which he explored several other perspectives, as the videos show.
